Troy Dillinger’s Variety Show

The creator of the outdoor party phenomenon [austin swim] has joined forces with the producer of Austin’s Gong Show to create a live television show with a uniquely Austin feel. The one-of-a-kind event will showcase Austin’s finest musical, comedy, performance, and burlesque talent while offering audience participation games with an adult edge. The event will be videotaped and edited to air on local television and pitched as a syndicated cable television show, featuring live comedy, burlesque, game shows and music.Tickets can be found here.

Fans of Dillinger’s [austin swim] will enjoy the music, comedy, audience participation and original video humor they are accustomed to, and the removal of Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim programming will divorce the event from the network’s ever-litigious corporate parents. New audiences can enjoy the experience of being part of a “truly Austin” happening by experiencing the event and participating in the "Real Live Game Show", which is hosted by Dillinger and comedian Tom Booker, who relocated to Austin from Los Angeles in 2007. Booker was a teacher at Second City and several of his students are now on MADtv & Saturday Night Live. Other show features will be “The Mating Game”, a take on the classic dating show, where “single audience members will compete for prizes and human affection”, and “The Gong Show”, a live and local version of the television classic "lack-of-talent-show". Audience members will take part in the games and will win prizes from many of Austin’s favorite businesses. The event will feature live video on 3 screens and four hours of live entertainment.
