Due to some unforeseen issues with the City of Austin, The United States Art Authority will no longer be able to open its doors to the public effective July 28th. While the closure is indefinite at this time, business owners John Dorgan and Conrad Bejarano are hopeful that the venue will be able to resume operations in the coming months. Many of the August events that have been booked
at the Art Authority have moved to other venues. Updates can be found

Dorgan and Bejarano, who also own Spiderhouse, EcoClean and I Luv Video, began work on the United States Art Authority last fall to meet the needs of the local arts community. As board members of the Austin Independent Business Alliance, they are committed to using their businesses as a vehicle for positive impact in the community. “We really thrive on the vibrant culture of Austin, and our efforts have always been to participate and promote this scene in our own small way,” says Dorgan. “That's our great strength, and that’s why we’re hopeful that we’ll be able to work with the city to reopen the Art Authority in the coming months.” Since it opened, The Art Authority’s anything-goes atmosphere was reflected in the kinds of special events that were booked at the venue. From fashion shows and gallery openings, to local film screenings, lounge acts, and nationally touring comedy acts, the space quickly grew to become a nexus of the Austin cultural landscape. Many of the August events that have been booked at the Art Authority have moved to other venues. Updates can be found here at spiderhousecafe.com. Thank you for your continued support! |
